Young Violinist

I actually painted this once before but this time the background is a simple burnt umber/ultramarine mix. Last time there was a room interior and I think I even threw in a teddy bear.
The model is Ysa several years ago.

Soren with Duckling

Soren with Duckling used a pre-dreadlocks reference photo. Everytime I paint Soren, I am sort of striving for something like the Henri Fantin-Latour self-portrait below. That is where the gold background came from anyway. Because my only gold paint was acrylic, the background was done in acrylic with the forground in my usual medium: water soluble oils.
